He will be discussing the evolution of the use of numerical models (FEM/FDM) by practicing geotechnical engineers through 4 case histories in which he participated. The case histories will span a period of 25 years and involve two arch dams (one in Central-America and another in Europe), a case of regional settlement near San Diego, California, and last, a large landslide stabilization in Los Angeles. |
