 Research Interests
Current research interests of mine include the methodology of optimum structural design and reliability based optimization of structural systems.

I have used nonlinear mathematical programming algorithms for the solution of a variety of structural optimization problems, with emphasis on the simplication of computations that can be obtained from an understanding of the physical characteristics of s tructural behavior. My recent work has also been devoted to incorporating the inherently nondeterministic nature of parameters into designs for specified levels of reliability, including applications to earthquake resistant structures.
