Professor Brandenberg wins Casagrande Award

Professor Scott J. Brandenberg has been awarded the 2010 Arthur Casagrande Professional Development Award from the ASCE Geo-Institute. The award is in recognition of "outstanding contributions to characterization of lateral spreading effects on pile foundations and engineering applications of geophysics."

Professor Brandenberg joins Professor Stewart and Adjunct Professor Patrick Fox as winners of this award. Other than UCLA, only U.C. Berkeley, U.C. Davis, U. Illinois, U. Texas and Purdue have had multiple winners of this award. Only UCLA and U. Illinois have had three winners.
