On April 20, 2010 an explosion rocked the BP Deepwater Horizon offshore oil drilling rig. On April 22, 2010 Deepwater Horizon sank, leaving the well gushing at the sea floor and causing the largest offshore oil spill in United States history. Civil & Environmental Engineering associate professor Eric Hoek is one of two UCLA experts asked to weigh in on the anniversary of the disaster.
